GSX-R 750 1985

Come in precedenza detto, la GSX-R 750 irrompe nel mercato nel 1985 rendendo obsoleta ogni altra concorrente. La sua prima presentazione avviene al Salone Di Monaco di Baviera, nel 1984, e verra' poi prodotta in 7 serie diverse e piu' di 89000 esemplari. Si presenta subito come una moto " street legal " e in molti particolari è in tutto una vera moto da corsa, da guidare con decisione e molto impegnativa. Basti pensare che rispetto alle concorrenti dell'epoca pesava 30-35 kg in meno, proprio per l'adozione del piu' leggero sistema di raffreddamento misto aria-olio (SACS), e non a liquido. Per la prima volta su una moto di produzione, viene adottato un telaio in tubi in lega di alluminio, che insieme ai flatslide carburators, alle ruote ( inedite ) da 18 '', ai 192 kili a pieno carico e ai 100 cavalli dichiarati, oltre ai numerosi componenti in magnesio del propulsore, ne fanno un mix esplosivo di carattere, adrenalina, scomodita' e fascino. Le vendite parlano da sole, Suzuki azzecca un vero best seller.

" street legal " replica, a true race bike, hard to drive and for practiced people.
30-35 kgs less than any other bikes in its category means a lot, and the reasons why are the mixed air-oil cooling sistem(SACS), the alloy frame ( first time on production series), magnesium in several parts of engines, that let the weight fall down to 192 kgs full charge. Even if we guess about the 18'' wheels, the flat slide carbus, and the 100 bhps, we are talking about an absolute blending of fascination, adrenaline, discomfort and nastiness: in a single word...a race machine!

Etsuo Yokouchi. Questo è il nome dell'artefice della creazione di una delle moto piu' icone degli anni 80-90, quella GSX-R erede della GS 1000 R endurance che nel 1983 vinse il campionato del mondo. Una vera racing, dentro e fuori, basti pensare ai suoi 178 chili a secco che farebbero impallidire qualsiasi supersport odierna anche nella sua categoria; anche per la scelta di optare per il raffreddamento misto aria-olio invece di quello a liquido delle sue dirette concorrenti. Una moto, semplicemente straordinaria.

We are here to eplore the magnificent world of the GSX-R 750 air-oil cooled Suzuki, one of the most iconic bikes of 80's and 90's, created by the idea of Etsuo Yokouchi, on the mindline of GS 1000 R World Endurance Champion in 1983. A true Racing bike at 360 degrees, with its 178 kilos dry weight, the best result in the category, still on the run at the moment ( if you think about the middle class engines sporty bikes in the stores).
